Cadenys ("the app") is a running cadence metronome, published by Balin Corp (Belo Horizonte, Brazil).
This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: nothing leaves your device.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs that collect data. It makes no network requests, so there is no server that could receive your data in the first place.
Motion sensors
The app reads your phone's accelerometer for one purpose: to count your steps while you jog, so it can show you your current cadence in steps per minute.
- Motion data is analyzed on your device, in real time, while the measurement is running.
- It is never recorded, never written to storage, and never transmitted anywhere.
- Each window of sensor samples is discarded as soon as the step count has been updated; only the resulting number (for example "164 spm") is shown to you, and it is not kept unless you save the run.
- Measurement only runs while you start it from the app. The rest of the app — the metronome, the plans, the timer — works without ever touching the sensors.
The app does not use the microphone, the camera, your location, your contacts, your photos, or your health records. It asks for no such permissions and cannot read them.
Audio
Cadenys plays a click. It does not listen. The metronome keeps playing while the screen is locked and mixes with whatever music or podcast you are already playing; that is playback only, and no audio is captured or analyzed.
Settings and run history stored on your device
Your preferences — target cadence, sound, accent and half-time settings, haptic mode, theme — and your run history (the date, duration and target cadence of past sessions) are saved locally on your device so the app remembers them between sessions. They stay on the device, are not readable by us, and are removed when you uninstall the app.
Sharing, retention and deletion
We do not collect any data, so there is nothing to share, sell, retain or delete. No data is sold or shared with third parties, and no data is used for advertising or tracking. You can clear your run history from inside the app, and uninstalling removes everything the app has stored.
Purchases
Cadenys is a paid, one-time purchase sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We receive no payment details and no personal information about you from your purchase.
Health and fitness disclaimer
Cadenys is listed under Health & Fitness because it is used while running, but it is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. It does not read from or write to Apple Health or Health Connect, and it is not integrated with either.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect data at all.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR, the CCPA and Brazil's LGPD give you rights of access, correction and deletion over personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete. You are welcome to contact us to confirm this.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
